Data collection assisted by the various electronic means of communication currently available; statistical data analysis and reporting of reference values in workshops and other publications.
User-orientated testing and evaluation results in electronic information applications which are more suited to the needs of the end users. When the cost and duration of such activities can be predicted early in the development cycle, more companies will use this technology leading to a higher standard of product or service and/or lower development and testing costs.
The ability to refer to a collection of data giving reference values for costs and procedures associated with user-involved evaluation and validation activities will allow organisations to more effectively plan and cost such activities and assess benefits.
Collecting reference values mean that companies over Europe can pool results and experience which otherwise would be subject to confidentiality restrictions. The range of gathered data goes beyond what any one company could gather on its own. All the industry will benefit from the use of reference values.
By facilitating European industry to be more user-orientated the industry becomes more competitive on the world market, leading to economic benefits for Europe as well as empowering the individual citizen.
